Detailed Description

The 40-foot High Cube container is a specialized piece of intermodal equipment designed to maximize cargo volume. While it shares the same length and width as a standard 40-foot container, its height is extended to 9 feet 6 inches. This design choice results in a cubic capacity of approximately 76.4 m³, offering around 10% more space than standard units .

Constructed from COR-TEN steel, the container is built to withstand the rigors of ocean freight and long-term outdoor storage. The flooring is typically made from marine-grade plywood, treated to resist moisture and pests . This type of container is utilized by various sectors, including e-commerce retailers needing to ship bulky items and manufacturing firms requiring secure storage for materials or equipment . Furthermore, the container’s condition is verified through classification society certifications such as CSC or BV .
