Detailed Description
The 13ft shipping container provides a practical balance of capacity and footprint. Manufactured from corrugated steel sheet material welded to a structural steel frame, these units are originally built to withstand the rigors of ocean transport and heavy stacking . This construction method results in a unit that is inherently strong and resistant to attempted intrusion.
While a 13ft container is not a standard ISO size used for international shipping, it is typically manufactured by modifying a standard 20ft unit . This process involves cutting the container to the specified length and fitting a new rear door frame and doors. The resulting floor is constructed from marine-grade plywood, treated to resist moisture and support substantial weight.
The exterior is finished with a corrosion-resistant primer and a topcoat of durable paint to protect against rust and UV damage. Corner castings are retained on all eight corners, allowing for secure lifting and transport by crane or truck with the appropriate equipment.
