20ft 1-Trip Shipping Containers | Additional Benefits – Nationwide Delivery

Overview

These 20-foot shipping containers are classified as 1-trip units, having been used for only a single international shipment before being retired from active service. Constructed from COR-TEN steel, these containers are designed for durability and weather resistance. They are suitable for various applications including secure storage, site offices, or conversion projects. Each unit has been inspected to verify structural integrity and operational functionality .

Key Features

• Single-Trip Origin: Transported goods from overseas to the United States on one occasion, resulting in minimal wear compared to standard used units

• COR-TEN Steel Construction: Weathering steel composition forms a protective surface layer when exposed to the elements, reducing the need for painting

• Weather-Resistant Design: Engineered with watertight construction and marine-grade seals on double-swing doors

• Ventilation: Passive venting system positioned on both end walls to reduce condensation during use

• Solid Timber Flooring: Industrial-grade plywood flooring treated to resist moisture and support heavy loads

• Interior Locking Mechanism: Wind and rain-resistant door configuration with locking bars on both doors

• Forklift-Pocket Access: Standard fork pockets on both sides for transport and positioning with appropriate equipment

Detailed Description

Shipping containers classified as 1-trip units occupy a specific position between new and multiple-trip containers. These containers completed one ocean voyage carrying cargo from manufacturing origins to the United States. Upon arrival, they entered the container depot network without being dispatched for additional international journeys. This single-use history typically results in floors, walls, and door seals presenting with less wear than containers that have completed multiple voyages.

The container structure is fabricated from weathering steel, often referenced by the trademarked name COR-TEN. This material develops a stable, rust-like appearance after exposure to weather. This oxidized layer functions as a protective barrier against further corrosion and does not indicate structural degradation. The steel composition includes copper, chromium, and nickel elements that facilitate this protective patina formation .

Double-swing doors mounted on one end provide access. Each door is fitted with two locking bars that engage with the door frame at multiple points. The locking mechanism accepts standard seal tags for security purposes. Door seals are constructed from synthetic rubber and remain flexible across temperature variations common to most regions.

Flooring consists of 28-millimeter marine-grade plywood. This material is factory-treated with preservative compounds and supported by transverse steel members spaced at regular intervals beneath the floor. The floor system is designed to accommodate evenly distributed loads and point loads from wheeled equipment when loading and unloading.

Ventilation is provided by passive vents positioned near the top of each end wall. These vents allow airflow through the container interior while preventing water ingress during rain events. This ventilation reduces moisture accumulation when the container is sealed for extended periods.

Compatibility / Intended Use

These containers serve multiple commercial and private applications:

• On-Site Storage: Secure storage for equipment, tools, materials, and inventory at construction sites, industrial facilities, or agricultural operations

• Warehouse Extension: Supplementary storage space adjacent to existing facilities for overflow inventory

• Conversion Projects: Suitable foundation structure for workshops, small offices, or habitable spaces when modified by qualified professionals

• Retail Applications: Pop-up retail locations or temporary sales facilities when positioned on prepared sites

• Equipment Enclosures: Weathertight housing for generators, pumps, or mechanical equipment requiring protected installation

The container dimensions accommodate standard pallet configurations and allow efficient space utilization for bulk storage requirements. Units are designed for ground-level placement on compacted, level surfaces or supporting foundations when required by local regulations.
